Day 6.
On this day, God created man. He scooped the dust from the ground and breathed his very own breath (Ruach) into his nostrils (Gen 2:7) and man became complete in body and spirit! Wow! We need to praise God for the very fact that today we have woken up, and have air in our lungs to breathe. Many did not wake up this morning. The fact that you did, means God is not done with you yet. Hallelujah!
Jesus said ”That which is born of the flesh is flesh [the physical is merely physical], and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be surprised about what I have told you, ‘You must be born again [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed and sanctified].’ The wind blows where it wishes and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it is coming from and where it is going; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”(John 3:6-8 AMP)
In this fast, we MUST die to our flesh (the physical), so the spirit he has given us can excel. Apostle Paul was a good example of this; he understood that daily we need to die to our flesh, because our flesh is good for nothing (Romans 7:18). When we are thinking or behaving in our flesh/carnal ways we are operating in our sinful nature. In our carnal state, we are led based on our own thoughts, will and understanding which is separate from God’s.
For example: If you want to eat and satisfy your belly, you will realize that the food is, here today and gone tomorrow. But God wants to give you an eternal inheritance which cannot perish (Matt 6:19). By entering into this fast and seeking the Lord Jesus in spirit and truth, you have chosen to commit yourself to putting aside your sinful nature. You have chosen to deny your flesh daily (Luke 9:23) and follow him.
So saints, In this day and in the days ahead just remember where we came from, how we were birthed, who we want to honour and follow, not only in this fast, but in our Christian walk while we breathe in our lungs. This is another day the Lord has made, so rejoice and be glad in it. Amen
Daily manna to meditate on….
”And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.“ Luke 9:23 KJV
”For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.“Hebrews 4:12 AMP
”We also speak of these things, not in words taught or supplied by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining and interpreting spiritual thoughts with spiritual words [for those being guided by the Holy Spirit].“1 Corinthians 2:13 AMP
”For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh [my human nature, my worldliness—my sinful capacity]. For the willingness [to do good] is present in me, but the doing of good is not.“Romans 7:18 AMP
Food for thought…..
What carnal/fleshly things have its hold on you that you need to let die to today? Be honest with yourself and give it to God.
