Our Belief Statement
The Cave of Adullam
1. The One True God
We believe there is only one true, living God—perfect in all His ways (Matthew 5:48; Psalm 18:30), eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 10:36; 1 John 5:7). Each Person of the triune Godhead shares equal divine attributes and is actively involved in the salvation of mankind.
2. The Inspired Word of God
We believe the Bible is the revealed, inspired, and eternal Word of God. It is the ultimate authority and through faith in His Word, we receive salvation (Romans 10:17).
3. The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God who took on human nature through the incarnation. He is fully God and fully man. We affirm His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, and His future return in power and glory (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18, 23; Luke 1:34-35).
4. The Holy Spirit
We believe in the active presence and ministry of the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus sent to testify of Him. The Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates the heart, guides into truth, and empowers believers for spiritual life (John 14:26; John 15:26).
5. God as Creator
We believe the Triune God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1–2; Isaiah 40:28; Acts 17:24; Hebrews 1:2). All creation originates from Him (Jeremiah 10:16; James 1:17; Revelation 10:6). We reject the notion that creation required pre-existing matter or evolutionary processes. We affirm the literal historical account of creation in Genesis 1–11 (Psalm 102:25; Acts 14:15).
6. Satan
We believe Satan was originally created perfect but chose to rebel against God (Ezekiel 28:15; Isaiah 14:12–17). As a result, he became morally corrupt, the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10), a tempter (Matthew 4:3; 1 Thessalonians 3:5), and a deceiver (Genesis 3; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:3). He is the adversary of God and His people, leading a host of fallen angels. Satan was judged at Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection, and his final destiny is eternal punishment in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10; 1 Peter 5:8; Revelation 12:9; 20:1–3, 7–15).
7. The Fall of Man
We believe in the historical account of the fall of man in Genesis 3. Man, though created good, chose to disobey God, resulting in spiritual, physical, and eternal separation from Him (Genesis 1:26–27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12–19). Sin fractured man’s relationship with God and distorted his original purpose.
8. The Salvation of Man
We believe salvation is possible only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. It is received through repentance toward God and faith in Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Salvation involves regeneration by the Holy Spirit and justification by grace through faith (John 3:3; Romans 10:13–15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11; 3:5–7).
9. Holy Communion
We believe the Lord’s Supper is an ordinance instituted by Christ to commemorate His death until His return (Luke 22:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26). The elements—unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine—symbolize Christ’s body and blood (Matthew 26:26–28; 1 Peter 2:24). Communion is to be received in faith, with reverence and discernment (1 Corinthians 11:27–30).
10. Water Baptism
We believe in baptism by full immersion, as commanded in Scripture, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is a public declaration of faith symbolizing death to sin and resurrection to new life in Christ (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47–48; Romans 6:4).
11. Baptism in the Holy Spirit
We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire as a distinct experience following salvation. It is the promise of the Father and a command of Jesus. This baptism empowers believers for ministry and service. The initial physical evidence of this experience is speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit gives utterance (Luke 24:49; Acts 2:4; 10:46; 19:6; John 7:37–39).
12. The Church and Its Kingdom Assignment
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, called to fulfill the Great Commission. The Church is to be the light of the world (Matthew 5:14), the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13), and the messenger of the Gospel (Mark 16:15). We are commanded to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19) and to love God and neighbour (Luke 10:27).
13. The Fivefold Ministry
We believe that God has appointed the fivefold ministry—Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers—for the equipping, edifying, and maturing of the saints (Ephesians 4:11–16). The purpose of the Church includes:
- Evangelizing the world (Mark 16:15–20)
- Worshiping God (John 4:23–24)
- Equipping the saints for ministry and maturity in Christ (Ephesians 4:11)
- Planting churches and expanding the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 3:6)
