Day 3.
Many of you in preparation for the Jesus fast may have done a 3 day water fast before or maybe even a dry fast (Esther 4:16). It is important to note on this day physical dizziness, fatigue and hunger can still be very much present. Acknowledging this, let’s us know that we are in the early stages of breaking our flesh so that our Spirit can rise up. (Romans 8:1-11).
Contemplating the Number Three:
Let us draw our eyes unto our triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Our awesome God made us fearfully and wonderfully, body, soul and spirit (Psalm 139:13-14). It blows my mind to know that we are built in his image.
Did you know our very DNA spells out his name in the Hebrew letters? And that the very breath we breathe in and out sounds like yah-weh.
What a powerful revelation!
We are built to worship him. We were created to bring him glory (Isaiah 43:7) so let’s do that in this fast, offering up our bodies as a living sacrifice to him, absenting the pleasures of this world to seek him in spirit and truth.(John 4:23)
I would also like to encourage you. If on this day you are struggling, take heart with your fellow brethren who will also be sharing in the suffering for his name sake. For the Bible says ”And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.“(Ecclesiastes 4:12)
I pray on this day, that just as a threefold cord cannot be easily broken, that you may withstand and prevail. Just as Jonah survived in the belly of the fish for three days may you be restored and come out unto dry land. And if you feel like falling remember on day three our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ arose from the grave and took the keys of death. Let victory be your portion in Jesus name.
Daily Manna…….
”For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.“ 1 Corinthians 6:20 KJV
”For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.“ Romans 8:5 KJV
”But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.“ John 4:23 KJV
Food for thought……
Today, what three things can you give the Lord honour and praise about? There is always something to be thankful for in every season.
