Pray in the Holy Spirit for at least 30 minutes and allow the Holy Spirit to pray through you.
Have faith in God, knowing that his mercies endure forever.
Scripture Warrants:

- Titus 3:5 – “He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to His own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.”
- Hebrews 4:16 – “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

- James 2:13 – “For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.”
- Ephesians 2:4-5: "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved."
Remember: We serve a merciful God, who does not withhold his mercies from us. His abundant mercies that outflows towards us, have been made available to us despite the limitations of our imperfections.
Let us pray.
Engaging the mercies of God for personal sins and transgressions
Start your prayer with thanksgiving.
Scripture says: O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. (1 Chronicles 16:34, KJV)
As believers in Christ we must be thankful to God for his enduring mercies, that are renewed every morning for our sakes. If it was not for the Lord’s goodness and mercies no man would be able to escape his wrath, nor stand to see another day. God has made it possible for us to enter each new day and month in good health, and for this reason we want to give him thanks.
Prayer point: Today, thank the Lord for daily making available to us his everlasting goodness and mercies, in Jesus name..
Confess your personal sins.
Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. (Proverbs 28:13, NIV)
It is time to confess your sins. Use the word of God found in (Proverbs 28:13, NIV) as a standing point. As you are confessing your sins, believe that your life will encounter the Lord’s mercies.
Prayer Point: Confess your sins and ask the Lord to visit every area of your life with his mercies and forgiveness.
Petition the loving kindness of the Lord and ask for cleansing.
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. (Psalm 51:1-2, KJV)
Sin contaminates the soul. It can make your life look filthy in the eyes of the Lord. It is because of the filthiness of sin a sinners life becomes separated from God. Holiness and unholiness cannot dwell together. The only way we can be reconciled to God is if we believe and accept the Lordship of Jesus Christ and repent of our sins. God’s forgiveness is received when we repent. It is God who cleanses us from the guilt of sin .Today, I want you to acknowledge the cleansing power of the Lord’s mercies.
Prayer Point: Ask the Lord to extend his tender mercies towards you and wash you thoroughly from your iniquity and cleanse you from all your personal sins.
Ask the Lord to extend his mercies to your life, so that you will be able to engage his joy.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. (Psalm 30:5, KJV)
There is a deep abiding joy that is revealed in the life of a believer when they come to the knowledge of who God is. There is an assurance found as the Lord’s mercies are extended towards them in the life of Christ Jesus. This assurance of God and his tender mercies for us are revealed to us in his word. His word will judge our motives, beliefs and practices and cause us to repent of our sins. It is in the place of repentance and understanding we discover the deep abiding joy of the Spirit that’s strengthens our soul.
Prayer Point: Today, you are going to ask the Lord to mercifully deliver your life from the sorrows of sin, that prevent you from engaging the joy of his Spirit.
Pray for Journey Mercies.
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Psalm 121: 7-8
All believer’s in Christ should pray before they leave their houses. Praying for a safe journey and divine protection when travelling will encourage you to put your trust in the Lord to deliver you from any unforeseen accidents and trials. The Lord has promised in Isaiah 41:10 to never leave us or forsake us. He will be our helper and deliverer.

Remind the Lord of his word.
“Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;” Exodus 20:5
In Exodus 34:7 the Lord promises to‘Keep mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, clearing the guilty.’

The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. Exodus 18:20 KJV
Remind the Lord of what his word says in Exodus 18:20. His word tells us that he who sins shall die. Scripture also says ‘The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.’

A foolish ruler cannot please God, because his decisions, actions and speech hurt the people under him. Proverbs 29:2, tells us that a wicked ruler burdens his people. Bad leadership can not establish righteousness (Proverbs 16:12). Our leaders need the grace and mercy of God to help them lead God’s people with a skilful hand (Psalm 78:72).

Wise leadership is vital for the health of our nation. The decisions our leaders make will change the economy, the social way of living and future endeavours. Wisdom is key for fruitfulness and prosperity.
Prayer point: Pray that the Lord will extend his mercy and grace towards his leaders. Pray that in his grace and mercies they will make wise decisions
Pray for God’s Mercy to be revealed in seasons of Doubt
“Have mercy on those who doubt.” Jude 1:22
Pray for the ministration of mercy in the life of our Leaders. When a country is facing a season of economic doubt, such as experiencing a national health care crisis, population fluctuation and national security issues, knowing what to do, and how to do it is essential for the smooth running and defence of the country.
Pray point: Pray that the Lord will flood his nations with his mercies, and bestow grace upon his leaders whose weaknesses are affecting their ability to rule with moral integrity.

Pray that the Lord will show mercy towards the believers who are struggling with their faith in times of doubt. Pray that his compassion will be revealed to them through the body of Christ, and through people they encounter in their daily interactions.
Prayers for Mercy in National and Global Issues
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
This verse emphasizes God’s unending mercy. In times of national and global distress we must seek His compassion. As we intercede for our country, especially during times of crisis, know that wars and rumours of wars, pandemics and natural disasters will come. Yet, the mercies of the Lord are able to deliver us from natural and global disasters.
Prayer point: Pray that all nations will encounter the compassion of the Lord that flows from his unceasing mercies during times of distress.
