Give them Jesus

We live in a world where moral depravity is on a rampage. Our government laws are no longer upheld by God’s moral standards, but instead, are now being upheld by new supporting teaching structures that are designed to question the integrity of God. Socially, our children are partnering with rebellious trends that promote-self glorification and not God glorifying worship. So where has society gone wrong in their view of life and God? The simple answer to this question is found in mankind’s relationship with sin. From generations past to today, sin has separated man’s heart from God. It is sin, not God that has that has led all men to fall short of the moral standards of living that are required to glorify God.
Isaiah 59:2
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
So now that we are aware of sin’s decaying presence in the lives of the inhabitants of this world, what can you do as a child of God to help change our world’s perception about our God?
As I write this, the only words that seem to correctly answer this question are:
GIVE THEM JESUS.
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?
Romans 10:14
Saints it is time to stand up and be a Jesus’ witness in this world. Remember it is never too late to evangelise and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. In Acts 1:8, all followers of Jesus were called to be witnesses of him, they were to share the gospel with others. Making it known that "there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12.
Now for some of you reading this, evangelism may appear to be a daunting feat, especially if this will be your first time evangelising. It is not a secret, that many believers struggle with coming to terms with facing the negative reactions from others when they make the decision to share their faith. This is a natural fear all believers will experience. However, just because you experience this fear, this does not mean that you cannot overcome it. If you are worried about not being bold enough to speak about Jesus in an open space. Or, if you feel that you are not as adequate as your peers in preaching the gospel. Don’t worry, being a ‘Jesus witness’ is not as intimidating as you might think. To show you that there is nothing to worry about, here are four basic steps to help you to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to others.
1. Study: Know Jesus ( 2 Timothy 2:15). The more you know about Jesus the more confident you will become in witnessing about him to others.
2. Pray: Partner with Jesus in intercession for souls ( Romans 8:26,34). Your prayer burden for souls, will motivate you to share your faith with others.
3. Evangelise: Preach Jesus ( Mark 16:15). Overcome your fear of evangelising, by confronting your fear in faith. Rely on the Holy Spirit. Remember: Evangelism is a Spirit-led mission from God.
4. Disciple: Establish Jesus in their hearts ( Matthew 28:18-20). There is great joy in seeing God's character established in the hearts of believers in Christ. Teach a new convert about Jesus.
Saints, we have been called to declare boldly that Jesus is Lord. We are ambassadors of Christ who declare the good news that Jesus came to take away the sins of the world ( John 1:29). Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and he is our saviour, redeemer and in him, all who believe have victory over sin.
Today, I urge you to make that decision, to tell every unbeliever you know about Jesus, because it is in the life of Jesus, that all who choose to believe in him, will receive an eternal life that saves them from the condemnation of sin and death.
